The main charity we are supporting this year is PAPYRUS (Prevention of Young Suicide) - as voted for by members. PAPYRUS support young people who are thinking about suicide and aim to educate the community in order to prevent any more young people taking their lives.
Alongside PAPYRUS will be fundraising for other charities during the year so keep an eye out for those events below.
To raise awareness and money for the charities we support the society will be hosting several events.
Become a Rep, join an initiative, get Volunteer experience or be involved with a charity.
2020/21 Main Charity
The main charity we are raising money for this year is PAPYRUS. This was voted for by members. We will be sending them any profits from fundraising events and raising awareness about the charity during the year. We also aim to have some volunteering opportunities with PAPYRUS when it is safe to do so.
PAPYRUS support young people who are thinking about committing suicide and anyone who is struggling to support a young person who may be thinking of committing suicide.
PAPYRUS aims to create a more open society and reduce the number of young people who take their own life by removing stigmas surrounding mental health.
The Grey Society is proud to support PAPYRUS this year and try to stop the biggest killer in under 35s in the UK.
