Gareth is a 3rd Year Mlaw Student who will be studying Sports Law and Intellectual Property Law this year alongside being in the Student Law Office. In previous years Gareth studied Human Rights and Gender, Sexuality and the Law.

It is Gareth's Job to find you volunteer opportunities, raise awareness about our main charity (and any others we partner with), and to raise money for charities at various events during the year.

Gareth wants to work in a commercial law firm when he graduates, specialising in contracts for sports teams or media personalities.

Social Secretary 

James has been studying Law at Northumbria for three years and is part of the Mlaw program. He has a keen interest in practical modules and really enjoyed the Street Law module last year. This year he will be taking part in the Student Law Office, Sports Law and Intellectual property. 


James's role is to organise a mixture of socials to cater to all of our members, with a mixture of sober and drinking socials. 

James would like to pursue a commercial career specialising in copyright law.

Legal Careers Officer

Kenar is a 3rd year MLaw student who is one half of your Employability team! She will be studying Commercial Contracts as well as An Introduction to Comparative and International Criminal Law this year!

In previous years Kenar has studied Property Law alongside Jurisprudence and is looking to pursue a career within a Commercial Law firm upon graduation.

Professional Skills Officer

Lucy is a 3rd Year MLaw (Bar Course Exempting) student who is the other half of your Employability team! She will be studying Medical Law as well as Sentencing & Punishment. In previous years she has studied Jurisprudence and Inquests.

It is Lucy's job, in partnership with Kenar, to provide a variety of employability opportunities to members, and to assist you in building your network and skillset for your future career.

Lucy plans to pursue a career as a Barrister after she graduates, hoping to attain a pupillage in the North East.

Zoe is your President for this year! It is her job to provide guidance and support for the committee and students alike.

She is a 4th Year MLaw student who will be doing LPC modules and her dissertation will be in criminal law! She has a strong interest in public and criminal law, and will doing Terrorism, Democracy and the Rule of Law, with previous modules including International Law and International Criminal Law. She hopes to secure a training contract in either public or criminal law when she graduates in 2021!

James is a 3rd Year Student undertaking the Bar Course in the coming year. His role is to handle the society's communications and manage the event calendar. 


He will be taking International Criminal and International Public modules but is also heavily involved in mooting and mock trials. He has hopes of attaining pupillage or a position as a prosecutor in the future.

It’s Meagan's job to deal with society funds. This means she has to ensure we have enough money to put on all fabulous events throughout the year! She is a 3rd Year MLaw student who will be studying Commercial Contracts and Sports law this year alongside being in the Student Law Office. 

In previous years Meagan studied Human Rights and Gender, Sexuality and the Law. Meagan hopes to gain a training contract in the North East at a commercial law firm. If you have any questions don't hesitate to get in contact with her above.



Social Media & Marketing Officer 

Evie is in charge of the day-to-day running of our Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn accounts. She will use these social media accounts to advertise our upcoming events and answer any questions you may have. 

She is a 3rd Year MLaw student who will be studying Commercial Contracts and Family Law this year alongside participating in the Student Law Office. Last year, she studied Gender, Sexuality and the Law and Inquests. 

Evie is hoping to gain a training contract in London at either a commercial or family law firm.


Equality & Diversity Officer 

It is Gabrielle's job to provide inclusive social events, awareness towards disabilities and to promote Equality and Diversity. Gabrielle is a 2nd Year MLaw student who will be studying Property Law and Gender, Sexuality and the Law.


In previous years, including her foundation year, Gabrielle has studied Jurisprudence, Law in Action and Law and Society. Gabrielle plans to pursue a career as a Solicitor after she graduates. Alongside her studies, Gabrielle enjoys baking, gardening and volunteering!

The Committee filmed a tour of the Law School in semester one to help students who have not had chance to see it and become familiar with the building. We wanted to showcase what is on offer. We hope everyone enjoys having a look around no matter where you are in the world. We are very proud of being from Northumbria.
